On Episode 23 of Self Friendship Podcast, I discuss the concept of target audience and how we can’t get the audience we want without nurturing the one we have.
As it relates to our Self Friendship, in our personal life and theoretically our self-development, we can’t attract the type of people we want without nurturing ourselves and the relationships we currently have. And, sometimes, the best way to nurture a relationship is to end it; we can’t ignore situations or people in our lives just because we don’t want them there - well, we can, but not if we want to move forward and develop.
We need to acknowledge the relationships, the same way we need to acknowledge our feelings. Emotions are feelings in motion; they are energy that need to pass through us. If we don’t feel them, they cannot pass through us, and they become suppressed feelings. Likewise, with relationships, if we do not acknowledge them by confronting the dynamics, the exchange of energy cannot be internally processed, so we create what I’m now calling suppressed relationships.
